Before embarking on a project, we will discuss your idea or project with you and compile a product specification which outlines the essential attributes and parameters of your product. Along with our project proposal, the specification is intended for review before any design work commences and will complement your own specification if you have one.
The flow chart below is simplified somewhat but illustrates a typical route to a finished product from the initial idea. In practice, there would be reviews throughout the project and we make a habbit of keeping our clients regularly informed as to project progress.

Validating designs
When your product has been developed to a pre-manufacturing stage, we undergo several checks including Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to ensure critical elements and repercussions of failure are considered before they happen.
Working prototypes can be manufactured to assess the final design and ensure it meets all the requirements of your specification. Prototypes are often essential for design validation purposes and can often provide a good basis for product photography even before a product has been fully produced. Prototypes are often made to test ergonomic constraints and challenges that the design may present.
Quality control
A well structured and well managed project is key to a successful product. Many of our clients use a quality management system and we are familiar with working within the scope of ISO9001 and ISO13485.
When we agree a project schedule with you, we will always provide regular updates on project progress and we are used to working with clients where design briefs may change for various reasons.
