Prototype product builds and testing

Prototypes can be built at any stage of a project to test the function of an assembly or to check the fit against another part before refining a design. Cosmetic prototypes are usually built once a design has been fully developed and they allow for aesthetic checks as well as functional ones. We have extensive experience of manufacturing prototypes and use some of the best rapid prototyping facilities in the country. Our experience includes vacuum forming, SLA, SLS, epoxy tooling for casting, CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication and PCB manufacture (surface mount and through hole).

Before committing to tooling and mass product manufacture, working prototypes can be manufactured to assess the final design and ensure it meets all the requirements of your specification. Prototypes are often essential for design validation purposes and can often provide a good basis for product photography even before a product has been fully produced. Prototypes also prove any ergonomic constraints and can save time and money.

Did you know that it is possible to produce medically approved prototype components that can be used directly in a medical environment and for the handling and transportation of fluids? Our rapid prototyping suppliers now stock a range of medical grade resins so designs can be tested in practice.
