Beautifully hand-carved from Ghana, Africa; surface of lid incised with a wonderfully carved gye nyame symbol (one of the most prestigious designs is Gye Nyame - except God (I fear none)); folding game board with two metal hinges on outside. The inside features two rows - each row has six wide circular playing holes. The artisan exquisitely carved this version from Osese wood and contains natural seeds from Caesalpinia bonduc.
The Oware game also known as Mancala is perhaps the most widespread game of strategy around the world. It is a two-person strategy game based on 'sowing' (moving) and capturing seeds, until a player wins by capturing the most!
